Meet your representatives

Lisa Charles
Elected

Kia ora my name is Lisa Charles and together with my husband Simon we have two sons, Oliver and Sam, currently attending Enner Glynn School.

I have been an elected member of the Enner Glynn School Board since 2020, being elected the Presiding Member (Chair) since 2021. I have enjoyed the opportunity to contribute my skills to the school over this time and would feel extremely privileged to be able to continue on the Board, as one of your parent representatives.

I have gained a large amount of knowledge of the governance practices and strategic direction of Enner Glynn School over the last 4 years and would love the opportunity to continue this journey. I am passionate about creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all our Tamariki so they can achieve their best at Enner Glynn school.

I am an Independent Director of Tasman Rugby Union (Deputy Chair) and an elected Director of Nelson Netball Centre. This allows me to continue to upskill and apply new knowledge to the School Board, to assist with achieving the best outcomes for our children, staff and families of Enner Glynn School.

I am currently the CFO of the Solander Maritime Group and a Chartered Accountant, which allows me to further contribute to the board with over 20 years of business and finance experience. I love being part of the Enner Glynn School community, and you are likely to see me on class trips and at school events. I enjoy meeting new and existing families and I am always happy for you to approach me to discuss any aspects of school life.

I hope to be able to continue to represent the parents of Enner Glynn School on your School Board.

Nga mihi.

Eva Lawrence
Elected

Kia ora everyone,

My name is Eva and I have two children at Enner Glynn school – Aria in year 5, and Solomon in year 1. I grew up in the Nelson region, went away for study and adventures and returned to this area when my partner Pete and I started our family. We chose Nelson as it’s a great place to live and bring up kids. My background has mostly been with local and central government and as a private contractor. I have been in a range of governance positions over the years, including as chair for a local Playcentre.

I work as a community advisor for the Department of Internal Affairs, supporting not for profit organisations to do their work in the community - I provide advice to staff and boards, access to funding and training, strategic planning, and building networks. Our team administers Lotteries and COGS funding, and I connect with all the funders in the Nelson Tasman region.

I am putting up my hand to be part of the Board of Trustees for Enner Glynn School because I think the school, the staff and community is wonderful, and I would like to contribute to supporting it, and finding opportunities to make it even better.

Some of the elements I would like to focus on are:

• building the strength of the school community

• supporting our kids’ resilience to respond and thrive with the challenges that come our way

• supporting the work of staff to celebrate the bicultural and multicultural school and country that our kids are growing up in

• exploring ways to provide swimming lessons for our kids so they are safe and confident in the water.
